Yeah, I got mine too.

Unfortunately, due to the mailman not closing my box all the way, I''ll have to go pick up another copy. I got birdsh#t on the top part of the mag!

Can you believe that? Why couldn''t the bird just take a crap on the (yet another) AOL disc that I got in the mail with it?!!

Stupid birds!!! /idealbb/images/smilies/7.gif /idealbb/images/smilies/7.gif /idealbb/images/smilies/7.gif

Yesfan,

-LOL- I''ve had a bird crap on my ARM, but never on my precious magazines. If one ever does get the crazy idea of taking a hefty dump on my S&V mags, it will be seeing the buisness(sp?)end of a .22. Stupid birds!/idealbb/images/smilies/7.gif /idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif

Last months magazine got so wet because I got a state coin that comes in a big cardboard type envelope and it kept my mailbox from closing, anyway by the time I got home and got it dried out the cover had completely separated from the rest of the magazine.Looking forward to a dryer issue.

The mail box is brand new. I did notice the lid is a little tight when closing it all the way. I can always tell if I have any mail, just buy looking at the lid. The mailman never closes it all the way.

I hope that bird puts a load on one of his precious mags, like Mailman Illustrated or something. /idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif

Stupid birds!!

I know you read my post in the "HDTV & Display Devices" sections earlier, so you probably know where I''m headed with this. Is it the VPL-HS10. I''m dying to see S&V review it and can''t figure out why they haven''t yet. IMHO it is a great deal. It can be had from an authorized dealer for around $2,600, free shipping, no tax. Just curious b/c I don''t have my issue yet. Thanks.

Michael

Well your wait is over mblack, the new issues reviews the Sony VPL-HS10 and puts it in a head to head test between a slightly cheaper Philips and Panasonic LCD model.
I don''t have my issue yet either, but it''s at the newsstand now.
If your interested in a VPL-HS10 product review, may I suggest you check out the January 2003 issue of Widescreen Review. This is the issue with XXX on the cover. I can Xerox you a copy of the article if you like......./idealbb/images/smilies/2.gif

Thoughts of the Offending Bird:

"Gotta go. Gotta go. Hey, there''s an AOL disc. Naw. Everyone $hits on AOL. Look! There''s a bald guy. No. Did that yesterday. A brand new BMW? Too easy. Hey, check it out. A slightly opened mailbox. Everybird''s grab-bag. Heehee. Its my day to go go postal..."

back to that front projector. it''s only $3k !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have serious thoughts about getting it but i have no room in my condo (as some of you have seen ;)

in fact i have one from my church. they use it to project slides of songs they sing for worship but since i maintain their technical stuff for them sometimes i take it home. it''s really old and it really sux but boy i telle ya when i play a DVD from my computer on it... if looks could kill. now i''m salivating over that sony one. boy oh boy. i mean for me the appeal is price. think about it for the cost of a very nice plasma/HDTV towards $8k you can grab that sony fp AND a really nice screen. and i knew screens were expensive but i didn''t know they are about the SAME PRICE as a FRONT PROJECTOR!!!!! wow! $1,200 for a simple screen? i know i know it''s optimized and the whole enchilada but still, couldn''t one just buy the clothe material in white and drape one over the wall? does it really take that much "optimization" for video to look good on a piece of clothe?
