I just wondered why JVC was lauded for providing bass management and distance compensation for hi-rez inputs on this unit, but no mention is made of how they're doing it. Since, the receiver only has analog multi-channel inputs for SACD/DVD-A, there must be an extra cycle of AD/DA conversion going on. While the sonic benefits of consistent bass management and time delay probably outweigh the penalty of the extra round of AD/DA processing, it would have made much more sense to go with an i-link connection, no?

...oops, my clumsy fingers left an "e" out of "review" in the topic section.

I read this article today. When you read the lab reports, it show that the analog inputs have noise level that''s similar to 16-bit audio, and is significantly worse than that of other receivers. It highly suggests that the analog input is indeed redigitalized for bass and distance management, and negating the high resolution of DVD-A/SACD. This should really be pointed on by the review staff.
