View Full Version : Re: Toshiba SPD2000 Portable DVD Player
I am wondering if anyone knows why this player has almost no power in the audio section. You can barely hear dialogue. All the salespeople say just use headphones, but why would you make a player with SVGA resolution and have almost no wattage on the audio section? Who does their product testing??? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to modify the player to raise the audio level loud enough to at least hear whats being said??

I think you''re out of luck on this one.
We have a Panasonic portable DVD player and it is about the same. They make unit small, and I don''t think they really put much effort into the speakers. Only thing to do is get headphones like the sales people suggested.
V

Portable DVD players and even laptops don''t sound well when there''a a lot of ambient noise present.
With tiny cheap speakers there''s really no way to get good audio other than by using a decent headphone.
I tried using watching DVD on my laptop on a plane and it just won''t work. At home it sounds great since it''s quiet.
High wattage speakers will use up power quickly.
The other thing you can do is get some powered portable speakers if you don''t want headphones. Although that defeats the purpose of getting a portable player to begin with.

S & V Moderator wink.gif border=0
