Does anyone know if you can download software that will enable you to automatically place photos from a memory stick onto a hard drive based mp3 player? Or know of such a player that will do so?

I don''t have a hard drive MP3 player, but I do dabble in digital photography. Since companies like Archos and Creative advertise that their MP3 jukeboxes can double as storage units for data files, I would think that you could use Windows Explorer (or whatever the equivalent is on a Mac) to just drag and drop the files onto your MP3 player. This is how I transfer files from my CF card reader to my PC''s hard drive (it''s a lot easier than using the software that came with the camera).

On a hard drive based MP3 player you can store any kind of data on it from your computer. I am curious if there is a way to go directly from camera to player without the computer. There is a product called a digital wallet which will automatically pull the images from a camera. I am wondering if theres a way to make the MP3 Player do it?

Scott,
The Archos website lists a module that connects a flash memory card to the Jukebox. It appears that once you have this connection the card is picked up by the player''s file browser.
Archos photo module

quote:
It''s this easy - connect the JBM Memory Card Reader of your choice to the Jukebox, insert the memory card and the Jukebox invites you to copy the contents. You can choose the directory on the Jukebox'' hard disk to file your photos and either download the entire contents of the card or selected pictures only.

The Archos Jukebox (and I am assuming other brands) also appears to have a USB port, so have you tried connecting the USB cable that came with your digital camera directly to the player? I am guessing that it''d work the same as the aforementioned card reader, since the connection is basically the same.
Scott smile.gif border=0
