View Full Version : Re: subwoofer wire
The reciever power rating has no effect on the subwoofer rating at all. The amp for the reciever is designed to run only your front, center, and rear speakers. The power rating on the sub is just for the sub itself. They do not need to match. You can run the sub cable as long as you like, but you might have to search a little for a cable that long.

Monster carries cables that are about that long. Or you can visit your local A/V store and have them make you a cable with the lenght you need.
Make sure when your loooking at subwoofer power ratings that it''s in RMS and not in peak power. RMS rating give you a more accurate power rating.
It ''s also a factor of efficiency. Some subs look like they don''t have enough power but they''re very efficient. But almost look for subs with over 100 watts RMS.
Hope this helps wink.gif border=0
