Welcome to the forum! Things look pretty good at your house <two systems and all>. And it always seems like there is a lack of funds for more equipment, doesn''t it? smile.gif border=0

Nice! You and I have some similar tastes, including a Pioneer Elite LD combi player. The DVL-91 and DVL-90 are outstanding. Do you have any DTS LDs? The DTS version of True Lies on LD and the DTS Crimson Tide LD rival the sound of any DVD I have and are better sounding than their DVD counterparts. Your system will reveal the subtle differences that are there. Certain scenes in both movies have subtle sound differences.
I do not believe LDs are better sounding in general, like some think, but as DTS LDs go you have great sound.
Enjoy your gear and welcome to the club!

Just noticed you have the same 2 remotes I have. Marantz RC 2000 and Philips Pronto TSU-2000. Aren''t they both great remotes?
ABCIII,
Thanks for the kind words.
I do enjoy the system any chance I can.
When some stores were selling out of LDs, I bought as many dts discs as I could. I have both Crimson Tide and True Lies in my collection. I also have a good assortment of DD encoded LDs.
One of my favorite dts LDs is The Jackal.
I have not replaced any DD or dts LD in my collection with DVDs. But I will say that to my eyes, the video is better on DVD.
Actually, my Pronto is the older 1000. It has enough memory for me and I absolutely do love it. I''ve turned many friends onto the Pronto.
Most of the fun is in the programming.
So when does the "Newbie" title come off one''s screen name here? smile.gif border=0

CosmicKid,
I think the newbie tag comes off after 20 posts. At least that is what it seemed to be in my case.
randy wink.gif border=0
