Nice stuff you got there Captain biggthumpup.gif border=0 . I see that you''re a Sony fan. I have the same DVP9000ES as you and that thing rocks both in DVD and SACD playback. Thinking of upgrade soon? if so, which gear . Thanks for sharing your setup with us smile.gif border=0

Thanks very much Igore. Yah, gotta love that 9000ES, it''s a sweet piece.
I''ve got alot of Sony since I get a very good dealer accommodation(discount) and can save money for the higher end brands. I''m not a fan of all Sony receivers (Elevated Standard is alright) since I found the Onkyo line to be more realistic and cleaner sounding, it was only this year that their line started to look pleasing to the eye.
Also looked at various B&K Components, but I liked what the high company called Bryston had. Quality components, 20-year transferable warrant, etc.
I would be happy with either Bowers and Wilkins CDM or CM series speakers or Vienna Acoustics Mozarts for upgrading in speakers, I''m still listening at others and saving as much $ as I can.
Monitor wise I''m impressed with Loewe Anaconda, and Priceton Graphics, but waiting for more High Def programming.
More and more impressed with DVD-A since I''m getting more exposed to it''s sound at the store, but I''ll wait.
What about you, any recent purchases?
What''s in your set-up?

Captain RJ
My recent upgrade are two monoblock amps. I am still waiting for it to arrive to the dealer. Everything has been payed and just wait and wait. I was told it would arrived in 2 weeks. Now it has been dragged to 4 weeks already. I am an impatient person and will again call them tomorrow to find out the cause for the delays smile.gif border=0 . I am in the process to upgrade my preamp also. My setup can be found in this forum entitled " my current setup ". I see that you''re going for separates with Bryston and B&W. That would be a hell of a setup when you get them. Tell us once you get those combo alright? thanks in advance.

apcarandang,
Thanks for the kind words sir. wink.gif border=0
Igore,
It will be some time before I get afford the upgrade. I could speed up the process by taking out a small loan.
I can understand about being impatient, especially when your so darn excited about finally being able to plug it in and test it out. I hope you don''t have to wait much longer.
I myself am quite excited about adding Laserdisc to my entertainment system. Just a few days ago, I acquired someone''s old Sony Laserdisc player, for a small price- model MDP-333; along with about a dozen discs from their collection. The laser pickup and the discs themselves do however, need a good cleaning.
< March 12, 2002: Message edited by: Captain RJ >
