Hands down I have to say go with the JVC SA70BK. Its priced at 300$ and is DVD-Audio. A great player in both value and performance. Both the interlaced and progressive scan video tranfers are great.

Hey Now,
Monkey... that''s HOT Monkey to you... says he saw pretty good progressive picture from friends Marantz DV6200... although it has no other fancy features like DVD Audio. It will play MP3''s I think, and has a three year warranty. Marantz is also pretty unique in that they will perform software upgrades at no charge (within warranty period) if player will not read newer titles. This came in handy for many friends of The Monkey.
That''s HOT Monkey... the original Monkey on this here Forum.
tongue.gif border=0

I agree with TW-zone 7 about the JVC SA70BK dvd player. You get progressive scan and DVD audio for under $300.

The JVC is good choice. You might want to check out the PHilips Q50. It was rated quite well in the last progressive scan DVD shotout. biggrin.gif border=0

Depending on how much you wanna spend. I personally use and like the Panay RP91. It runs on the old Genesis chip, but right now it''s the best genesis chip system out there. No chroma bug, there''s alot of features, and recently won Editor''s choice award on S&V. Price has come down on the unit also.. very good time to buy.
< December 17, 2001: Message edited by: r1lee >
