Hi Moose 84, I just purchased the 898, very pleased with receiver. To answ your question, you can run from the 898 to the speakers and use the zone 2 , but this will create a problem if you want to go 7:1 at the same time...I have choosen the extra amp which allows me to use 7:1 in my main room while playing another source in my other room..hope this helps.

Yea, so far it has met and exceeded my expectations. My first Onkyo product, I have been a Pioneer and Sony supporter for years.
