Mitsubishi guarantees upgradability to future standards mainly by using FireWire and the HAVi (home audio and video interoperability). Are other brands not upgradable? When are we likely to see FireWire components available? Just how significant is this upgradibility?

When copyright issues are settled we should see more firewire compatible components available. The main issue is copy protection for HD programs.<p>Yes some DTV''s are not upgradable but hopefully all you''ll need is a new set top receiver.
