In the center of the wire is another real thin shielded wire. My question is, do you try and strip the very thin wire and combine it with the outer strands? If yes, then what purpose does the center wire do? This is something I have wondered about for a few years now, and just haven''''t had the access to a wide variety of input until now. confused4.gif border=0

Electro,<br />Go to Monster''s website and look up XP it explains there what the purpose of the inner conductor is, I just can''t remember what it said.<br />randy

Electro,<br />From Monster''s web site. FAQ. Magnetic Flux Tube.<br />"This is a specially designed dielectric tube that runs down the middle of a group of different gauge windings. This helps break up the magnetic field generated from the current flowing through the cables conductor. We wrap the larger solid core conductor (the culprit of this magnetic field) around this dielectric for maximum affect."<br />randy

Thanks Randy for all your effort. I don''t know why I just didn''t go there first. I guess the next question is, Does it make a difference? confused4.gif border=0

Electro-Man<p>I use the same cable for my HT. Connected bare-wired to my receiver and have them run behind dry walls and up on the attic. It performs great with my system. I wouldn''t worry about the center tube though or whatever they called it. Unless you have interference then should you worry smile.gif border=0 . Just make sure you don''t run your inteconnects and speaker wire parallel with power cords. Of course you''re already well awared of that smile.gif border=0 What kind of equipments you have? if you don''t mind sharing.<p>< March 07, 2002: Message edited by: Igore ></p>

I cut about a half inch off of this center tube when I twist on Monster Banana Plugs. I think I read to do that in the directions for the plugs.

Igore<br />You can read my set-up in My entainment system under"Play-Time". It is still on the first page I think. Pictures are on the way. It is small but I like it. biggthumpup.gif border=0 <br />Let me know what you think.<p>< March 07, 2002: Message edited by: Electro-Man ></p>
