What is Brown Burr? I noticed that my Dvd player touts this as a feature and wanted to know what it is and what benfits it may give me over anything else.

It is simply the name of a company that specializes in higher-end processor units. It''s now part of Texas Instrument. Other good DACs are made by Crystal.

DAC or ADC makers that get mentioned often are Burr Brown (the most popular, it seems), Crystal Semiconductor, Wolfson, and Asahi Kasei. Another DAC that''s gotten a good reputation is Digital Conversion System''s Ring DAC.
