I have an Amazon Prime account and want to be able to watch the Amazon Prime videos on my TV. In order to do this I need to either, buy a new TV, (I have a Pioneer PDP-5080 so I don't need a new TV, mine still looks beautiful) a compatible media player, (I just bought an Apple TV device for playing Neflix so I don't really want to buy a Roku or similar device) or a Blu-Ray player (which I don't currently own).
So to me the best option would be to buy a Blu-Ray Player but I want to be sure I'm getting a good one. The problem is because it has to be an Amazon Prime compatible Blu-Ray player it limits my choices.
I wanted to know what my best options are out of the models that are available that can play Amazon Prime videos.
The Sony the compatible players are:
BDP-S370;BDP-S380
BDP-S470;BDP-S480
BDP-S570;BDP-S580
BDP-N460
NSZ-GT1
The Panasonic models are:
DMP-BDT110;DMP-BDT210;DMP-BDT310
DMP-BDT65
DMP-BD85K
DMP-BD60
DMP-BD80
The LG models are:
BD650
BD670
BD690
I've never had a Blu-Ray player so I have no idea what's good, what's bad, what to look for and what to avoid. I would like to get a model with a good track record and don't mind paying a little more if it means I'm getting a better machine. I will build my Blu-Ray collection as I come across movies that I really like but in the beginning I will be using it mainly for watching and renting Amazon prime videos.
Any suggestions?
