Default Hollow baseboards to hide cables and wiring

Does anyone know if hollow baseboards already exist that will hide cables and wires?

While I don't know of any premade baseboards. Someone with a tablesaw and a modicum of skill could help you out with tis in a hurry.

Router would work too.
Probably quicker unless the table saw has a dado blade

Find someone in wood working if you can't find already pre cut molding

Most toe molding would not be deep enough to route and accommodate anything much greater than a single pass of 14 gauge. If you have a number of heavier wires you might take a piece of molding and glue or tack a half inch square strip on the top and bottom the length of the run. This would give you a half inch deep by 2 or 3 inch wide area to run wiring in without standing the molding off of the wall enough to be very noticeable.

I had my wiring installed on Tuesday. They had originally wanted to go up to the ceiling but it wouldn't work with the surrounds. Since I'm having all my carpeting replaced tomorrow, the HT installers pulled the existing carpeting up and shoved the cables down below the baseboard. They told me they do it all the time, and the carpeting folks can just push the carpeting up to the wire but still under the baseboard.

Tomorrow, we'll find out. I'll post again tomorrow if there's any problems.

Maybe a little late, but Radio Shack does have 14ga flattened speaker wire.

I understand its not the 2ga welding wire most would run, but it does work pretty good...

Al...little tung oil, waterbed with no sheets, maybe goat or two...whooooooowhoooooo
