goin this afternoon to peep em. I don't think I have the necessary space for them, but if I can get a listen and move them for a profit then it won't be a bad deal at all.

Just as a general question, what would one expect needs to be "fixed" on a speaker this old?

I'd figure the crossover parts probably could use a remove and replace, and if this were a code speaker, the surrounds (is that the right word) might need some work, but I recall certain former members mentioning a "recharging of the magnets". For a speaker that old, is it something that should be done?

Anything else?

Well, I never had the chance to go and investigate. Car needs a wheel bearing and brake pads and rotors.....can't drive speakers!

Luckily for me, all of my car expenses come just after I buy new speakers.

No, you can't drive speakers...BUT, when you have new speakers you don't need to leave home now do you?

John makes a very valid point!

Also, as the speakers age, the capacitors go bad! So, the capacitors may need to be replaced.

Wooden speaker cabinets can be easily refinished to look great.

And at $250.00 for the pair, some new internal parts shouldn't be a deterrent.
