Default New To Forum

Hi all. Lots of good information here. I've been reading Sound & Vision since the beginning and Stereo Review since the 70s. Unfortunately I lost all my back issues during a move. I would really appreciate it if someone who had the Sept 2003 issue of S&V could scan the article on the JBL HT Series speakers and E-Mail it to me. I tried asking the S&V staff but did not get an answer from them. Thanks.

Welcome, glad you're here! Yes, there's a lot to learn, I've been around for a year or so but still find new stuff every day. It's an enjoyable process, though! Don't feel like you need to get everything all at once, and yes you'll find lots of good help even for "newbie" questions.

Those JBL HT series speakers have a special place in my heart. THEY were the speakers that defamed my (then beloved) Bose Acoustimas 501 towers. I was so proud of those things, until I heard the JBL's that is.

I'm really happy with them. It took a long time to find them though. I got the two HT4Vs & one HTPS-400 on eBay, the HT4H, two HT5s and the other HTPS-400 from a warehouse dealer in Seattle. I've been into JBLs since the 70s. I had 4311s & L150s. When I decided to get into HT I had to go with the JBLs. They really make concert blu-rays shine.

You know what's funny about those HT series speakers is that once they quit making them, that design popped back up in their highend synthesis series. Which makes sense because I thought they were fantastic.

JBL still had them on their website until last month. They've redone their website under the parent company Harman Kardon and no longer have any of the HT series speakers on the site. They also don't show the other series. They now have the speakers by category. Of course I've never saw the HT series speakers in any equipment shop.
