For any HDMI cable under 15ft, just about any brand at any price will be perfect. Sometimes paying a little more will get you higher reliability, or a better fitting plug, but they all pretty much work perfectly at those shorter lengths.

if you want an HDMI cable that is ver 25 ft, I would look at the better brands - the abolute best being the top of the line from Blue Jeans Cables. Whatever you do, do NOT, under any circumstance, pay more than Blue Jeans Cables charges. There isn't a better cable made, and paying one penny more is wasting your money.

Avoid expensive brands like Monster and you should be fine.

Take a gander at this sight here

Blue Jeans Cable

off-topic, but somewhat related: Monster has gotten the reputation of suing smaller businesses that contain the word "monster" in their company name, logo, or their ads claiming it is a copyright infringement. BJC, has sent funds from past purchases to help these businesses from being shut down. I can't find the link on their site, so I don't know if they still do it or not.

I do not work for or am affiliated with BJC, but I thought that was a pretty cool effort on their part.

Monoprice and Blue Jeans Cable are the usual recommendations 'round here. I've gotten a lot of stuff from BJC, including HDMI, all work fine and good quality.

One more thing!

What are the most current cable, because I see "1.3", 2, etc. What is the most up to date version of this cable?

I ordered a Power conditioner from Amazon a couple days ago. You know how they sometimes pair things up with accessories or a DVD or something for just a few bucks more? They had a deal where they included an HDMI cable, and an optical cable, for $0.06 more!!

It may not be the highest quality cable, but I bet it's the cheapest!

Most stuff these days is (I think - others correct me if I'm wrong) 1.3. But I don't know if the cable requirememt is really any different, or if it's just a protocol issue? Anyway, if you get one rated for 1.3 - if there is a choice at all - you'll be fine.
